Coromandel – Hot Water Beach and Cathredal Cove – English version

After 1 week HelpX in east of Auckland our trip continues! Let´s go to Coromandel.

Hot Water Beach:

Marleen is digging a hole

It´s not without reason it´s called that. During the low tide all the people go to the Hot Water Beach with the shovels. Let´s go – Dig your own Hot Water pool directly on the beach! :) At the end of the low tide the beach was so crowded. The people dug holes next to holes. Partly the water in the pool would be so boiling hot, that you couldn´t sit in the pool anymore or you´d burn your feet! Someone told us, the water is heated by a submerged volcano .. we didn’t googled it… :)
