Paihia – our first job in a hostel - english version

6 days working in a hostel are over. Working for two hours per day for free accommodation, we couldn’t say no! :) We decided to take over the job of an English couple which have had it before. A good decision! :)

Location: At the end of Paihia. To the CBD were 10 minutes and to the beach five minutes by foot. The next countdown (big supermarket) five minutes by car.

Accommodation: A small room with a double bed. This room was located in an extra house not far away from the hostel.

The work:  Commencing at 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. We had to clean the kitchen, the common room and the bath rooms. Everyone knows the german guys, their mania for cleaning and professional work. So first we did a base cleandown! :) On the first day we needed 3 hours! :D The next five days we only needed 2 hours and we had the rest of the day off! :)

Harura Falls: We did a short walk to the Harura Falls. We rode with the bike to the beginning, 1,5 hour walk, looking the falls and then we hitchhiked back! :D We just were too lazy! :D

Kayaking: Our boss from the hostel knows the guy from the kayak rental shop. Instead of 25 dollar each per hour we only paid 30 dollar for the whole day. :)
